How does the free trial work?
You get 7 days of full access — all 30 daily picks and the entire archive. We tell you the renewal price upfront, and you can cancel any time before the trial ends and pay nothing.
Will I be charged automatically?
Yes — after the 7-day trial, your chosen plan renews automatically (monthly or annually) until you cancel. The exact amount and date are shown before you start the trial.
What if I don't like a film, can I get a refund?
Membership is about the daily ranking as a whole rather than any single film, but if you're unhappy we offer a 7-day money-back guarantee on your first paid charge. Just email [email protected].
Is my payment information secure?
Checkout runs over an encrypted (SSL) connection and we don't store full card details on our own servers. Once our payment provider is connected, all billing is handled through it.
How are the daily picks selected?
A small human curation team, led by founder Paula Miralles, watches dozens of new indie shorts each morning and ranks exactly thirty by craft and originality. No algorithm decides the order.
When does the ranking refresh?
Every day at 00:00 in your own device's local timezone. The countdown on the site shows exactly how long until the next thirty arrive.
Does the same film stay at #1 forever?
No. The entire ranking resets at midnight every day, so number one changes daily. Yesterday's top pick moves into the archive, where members can always find it again.
Which devices can I watch on?
videocast works in the web browser on any modern phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. We don't currently offer native mobile or smart-TV apps, and we won't claim to until we do.
Can I download films to watch offline?
Not at the moment — videocast is a web-streaming service and we don't offer offline downloads. We'd rather be honest about that than imply a feature we haven't built.
Can I share my account?
Membership is intended for personal use by one member. We don't offer family or shared profiles yet, so please don't share your login.
Can I submit my own short film?
Yes — independent filmmakers are welcome to submit work for consideration. Email [email protected] with a link and we'll add it to the screening queue. We can't guarantee placement.
